NGC 7000 – Emission Nebula in Cygnus

  • Description: - A collection of items in the constellation Cygnus. The main item is emission nebula NGC7000 aka the North American Nebula where a major part resembles the Gulf of Mexico. To its right is the emission nebula IC5070 aka the Pelican Nebula as it resembles the head of a pelican bird.

  • Camera: ASI2600mc OSC

  • Telescope: Williams Optics RedCat51v2 refractor, 250mm at f/4.9

  • Exposure: 198min of 3min OSC subs, and 240min of 10min subs through Antlia ALP-T 5nm Ha/Oiii filter.

  • Location: Bright Calgary Alberta

  • Date: Nights of 2025-07-30 and 2025-07-31

NGC 7000 – Emission Nebula in Cygnus

  • Description: - This is the same image as above but only through the One Shot Colour camera with no added Ha or Oiii exposures. This makes the colour more “natural” but less detailed than the above image. Note that neither of these are really “natural” as most all astrophotos are heavily stretched to reveal colour and detais.
