Sharpless 2-190 & Sharpless 2-199 – Bright Nebula in Cassiopeia

  • Description: - Sharpless 2-190 The Heart Nebula on the right and Sharpless 2-199/LBN 667 The Soul Nebula on the left are bright large Emission Nebula in Cassieopeia which contain star clusters IC 1805 or Collinder 26 in the Heart and IC 1848 in the Soul. Both The Heart Nebula and The Soul Nebula span almost 2 degrees of width or 4 full moons each and lie an estimated 7,500Ly away.

  • Camera: ASI2600mc both Unfiltered and with Antlia ALP-T Ha/Oiii filters

  • Telescope: Williams Optics RedCat51 at 248mm FL

  • Exposure: 4hrs of 10min unfiltered exposures blended with w 5.25hrs of narrow band Ha and Oiii with ALP-T filter

  • Location: SASP near Elkwater Alberta Canada, under Bortle 4 skies

  • Imaged: September 2025
