LBN
438 - Bright Nebula in Lacerta

LBN 438 is a "Bright" Nebula in the constellation Lacerta. It is
actually very faint. It is a Cometary Globule. It is reported that
there is no H-Alpha signal from this nebula so ... Not sure about the
reds.
Gary Imm has a great image and write-up about it here:

Image acquisition using CCD-Commander, TheSkyX
Processed mostly in PixInsight. Tweaks and tidy up in PS then

PixInsight Processing:
RGB: SPCC, BlurX, NoiseX, GradientCorrection, Curves, Histogram
Transformation (HT), Masked Saturation boost to the highlights.
Luminance: BlurX, NoiseX, GradientCorrection, StarX, Starless image
stretched using HT and this was saved. Then a copy of the image was
used asa a mask to apply LocalHistogramEqualization to the highlights.
This was saved as a "super stretch" version.
Photoshop Processing:
The two versions of the Lumiance were combined and only the nebula
portion of the super stretched version was allowed in. Then some bad
halos around the bright stars were tamped down.
The RGB image had similar issues with star halos so they were also
tamped down.
Then the final Luminance was pasted over the RGB as a Luminosity layer.
Some tweaks and noise reduction.
THEN, back to PixInsight to remove some background mottling and
gradients.
