- Reflection Nebula in Pegasus

Sh
2-122 is likely a reflection nebula illuminated by an embedded but
unseen star and associated with the molecular cloud MBM 55, at a
distance of 150 pc. Markab is just out of the frame hence the intrusive
spike of light at the top. Sigh.

Reduction and all pre-processing in PixInsight.
RGB processed in PixInsight using SPCC, BlurX, NoiseX then
HistogramTransformation, Curves and a masked Saturation boost.
Luminance processed in PixInsight using BlurX,
NoiseX then
HistogramTransformation, Curves and LocalHistogramTransformation (for
contrast)
Moved to Photoshop where the Luminance was layered on the RGB and then
additinal processing for noise, colour and contrast.
