IC1396 - Nebulosity in Cepheus
Nebulosity in Cepheus
  • Description: A large, faint patch of nebulosity in Cepheus, this field of view is about 9 x 6 full moons in size. On the left side on the nebula is IC1396A, also known as the Elephant Trunk nebula. This was shot over several months using narrow band filters for the nebula and RGB filters for the stars. For nebula colours I mapped Hydrogen-alpha to red, SII to blue and OIII to yellow.
