  • Description: Whirlpool Galaxy M51 just off the handle of the Big Dipper. This is actually a pair of interacting galaxies. The main component is NGC5194 and the smaller part is NGC5195. The brighter component is magnitude 9 and is 10 x 8 arc minutes in size.
