- Description: NGC6939 is a bright open star cluster in Cepheus, shining brightly at magnitude 7.8. It is 7 arc minutes in size.
Also known as Herschel H VI-42. Next to it is face-on galaxy NGC6946, right on the Cepheus-Cygnus border. It is heavily reddened
by dust in our galaxy but still shines at magnitude 9.6 and measures 11.6 x 9.8 arc minutes in size. Also visible are some faint clouds
of dust in our galaxy which permeate Cepheus.
