Cluster NGC7142 - Reflection nebula and Cluster in Cepheus

  • Description: NGC7129 is the compact open cluster embedded in the blue reflection nebula NGC7133, lower left of center. NGC7129 is a cluster of 10 stars, 8 arc minutes across, magnitude 11.5. The larger open cluster above and right of center is NGC7142, also known as Herschel VII-66. NGC7142 is more impressive involving 100 stars covering 12 arc minutes - magnitude 9.3.
